Emma Frost

Curator's note

Emma Frost, created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, first appearing in Uncanny X-Men #129 (1980), at the opening of the Dark Phoenix Saga. Introduced as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, an Omega-level telepath and Xavier's rival, she later crossed sides to lead the X-Men outright. Her secondary mutation lets her turn her body to organic diamond, near-invulnerable, though it shuts her telepathy off completely while active.
